Island Getaway
Taking the ferry to Miyajima was a peaceful ride with beautiful views of the sea and distant mountains. As I arrived, the famous floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine came into sight, standing gracefully in the water. Deer wandered freely around the island, unafraid of visitors. Walking through the streets, I explored small shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and traditional crafts. The atmosphere was lively but serene, blending nature and history perfectly.
I visited Itsukushima Shrine, where the wooden walkways stretched over the water, creating a magical scene. The temple’s red pillars contrasted beautifully with the blue sea and sky. After exploring the shrine, I enjoyed fresh seafood, including Miyajima’s famous oysters. The island’s charm, with its historic sites, scenic views, and friendly deer, made the visit unforgettable. Watching the torii gate at sunset was the perfect way to end the day.
